It isn’t often I have the courage to share my writing, however as Mother’s Day draws upon us, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share a personal note to the most influential woman in my life—my mother. Writing about her is as effortless as it is challenging; effortless because my heart overflows with words, and challenging because I hope these words truly capture the depth of my love, admiration and respect for her.
Motherhood, a profound calling, is not merely a job but a heartfelt vocation. It is an adventure into the depths of unconditional love—a love so vast and pure, a blessing that continues to unfold every day. When seeking to define motherhood, I found that traditional descriptions often fail to grasp its full spectrum. A mother isn’t just a caretaker; she embodies every role imaginable. The following came to mind when thinking of my own mom: boss, logistician, teacher, jack of all trades, doctor, counselor, uber driver, event planner, mediator, fearless leader, advocate, friend, and protector.
Being a mother is the greatest privilege of my life and my true calling. My love for children has always been deep, but the profound love I feel for my own children has surpassed all my expectations. Love is more than a feeling; it is an action, a lesson I learned from the best—a woman of great faith and thoughtfulness, my mother.
Motherhood is both a challenging and beautiful journey. Even during the darkest times, my mother’s unwavering love and steadfast belief in me have been a source of strength and inspiration. Her example continues to guide me every day as I navigate the joys and trials of motherhood with my own children. This deep connection and the lessons it brings are what I cherish most.
There’s a very powerful song titled “Mother” that my sisters and I often sing to our mom. The chorus particularly resonates with me, capturing the beautiful relationship I share with her.
She’s your mother, you love her
There won’t be another
place like her again that you call home
She stands here to help you
there’s nothing she won’t do
As long as she’s alive
you’re not alone
you’ve got each other
That’s your mother
The profound beauty, courage, and love that my mom embodies every single day are gifts in themselves. She is more than just my mother; she is my best friend, my confidant, and my voice of reason—she is my home.
There is a famous one-liner from my mom that she often says, which is, “You are the Bomb!” It’s her special way of saying “I love you.” So, to my mom, and to all the other mothers and mother figures out there, “You are the Bomb!” Today, we celebrate you and the profound ways you have shaped our lives with your courage, love, and wisdom. Mothers truly are the heart and soul of our homes. Your boundless capacity to love and your steadfast strength continue to inspire and nurture us all. On this special day, let’s take a moment to honor and appreciate the remarkable impact you have on our lives, day in and day out. Thank you for everything you do.
And to you, Mom, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unconditional love, example of strength and for being my home. I am the luckiest!
Wishing you all a joyful Mother’s Day filled with love and appreciation for the remarkable women in your lives.
Keep being amazing!
